For a few years now, Francesca Penzo has sought to put her movements and choreographic designs at disposal of the encounter of different cultures.

This duet, at a first-study stage, is part of the Fattoria Indaco project, which aims to create a professional company for dance and performing arts in the city of Bologna. This project can be a promoter of training initiatives in dance and social inclusion in the municipality and in the region, with special emphasis on accessibility.

The project addresses young semi-professional artists, with a special care for second and third generation immigrants, asylum seekers, and Italians that are sensitive to multiculturalism-related topics. This duet is indeed the encounter of different cultures and origins, an artistic research that has been developed around the theme of interculturalism and diversity as a source of wealth and inspiration.

"Teaching is helping. We teach to help others give birth to their truth". Socrates "Parallel to the creative work, it is important for me to improve a parallel activity and research as teacher. As a teacher, I’m interested in working and coming into contact with different realities and generations. In this way the aim of my work is to involve people from different backgrounds, ages and intentions. To teach means to me to give back what I’ve learned in my experience and to create new places of encounter, meetings and confrontation. For contemporary dance classes I use skills derived from the Contemporary Release Technique with floor work elements. In my long-term masterclass experience with groups in academies and dance schools, I have created a precise teaching module which includes the interaction with visual art and the collaboration with a dramaturge".
